Police Training Mission

The Medford police department has a proud history. We have operated a regional police academy since about 1967. Numerous police departments in Massachusetts have sent their officers for basic recruit training and specialized training at our academy. To date approximately 36 Basic Recruit Police Officer Academy Classes have graduated from our facility. The Medford Police Academy is committed to excellence in training from our basic recruit training to officer in-service training, specialized technology training, firearms training and incident response training. We are prepared to face the training challenges ahead by being technically and tactfully prepared.
