On Saturday, October 31st, from 10AM to 3PM, the Fifth Annual Haines Square Fall Festival will take place. This family orientated event is sponsored by the Salem Street Community Association. There will be vendors, live music, children’s activities, raffles, and great food. The Medford Fire Department Smoke House will also be there. Proceeds of the Festival will benefit “Disabled and Limbless Veterans”. Also, anyone having gently used men’s and women’s business clothing such as suits, slacks, dresses, dress shirts, blouses, shoes and accessories are encouraged to drop them off at the Festival. Items such as these are provided to Veterans through the “Suits for Success Clothing Drive”.
Mobile Food Market
On Saturday, November 14th from 1PM to 2PM there will be a Mobile Food Market available for Medford residents in need at the WIC Office at 239 Commercial Street in Malden, weather permitting. Donations of fresh produce, dairy, and other refrigerated items are offered free of charge. Please bring a reusable shopping bag or cart to transport food home. A shuttle service will be provided from Medford City Hall to the Mobile Market starting at 11:30AM on November 14th. You must pre-register by calling (781)393-2439.
Flu Clinic – City Hall Council Chambers
Medford’s Board of Health will be hosting their second flu clinic on Wednesday, October 28th from 4PM to 7PM at the Medford City Hall Council Chambers. Anyone wishing to attend should bring their insurance cards and wear short sleeve shirts.
Winthrop Street Paving
Work crews will be paving Winthrop Street from Tesla Ave to the railway bridge tonight (Friday, October 16th) starting at approximately 8PM. The intersection of Winthrop Street and George Street will also be paved. There will be no parking in these work areas. Notices have also been posted. Please plan accordingly. Boston Ave and North Street Paving
Work Crews will begin paving North Street between Hamilton St and Boston Av tonight (Thursday, October 15th), starting at 7:30PM. Efforts will also be made to pave Boston Ave from Harris Rd to Winthrop Street as well. There will be no parking on either side of North Street and Boston Ave within the work areas.
