Vehicle Break-Ins
The Medford Police have been investigating a rash of motor vehicle break-ins in the last few months. It is important for the Department to receive reports of these breaks even if you may think the items taken were small or may not be of high value to you. Victims will often leave their cars unlocked and may not notice that items are missing for days. Please take a moment to check your vehicles today (March 28th) as we are in the process of investigating a suspect in possession of certain items that we believe were stolen from vehicles overnight. If you notice any items missing from your vehicle or believe your vehicle was entered, please call 781-395-1212 so that an officer can respond to take a report.
MWRA Pipe Repair
The MWRA will be isolating a water main in Medford in order to replace a large valve on Mystic Avenue. The work may result in discolored water in your area for up to three days following the isolation. No disruption to water service is expected. The work is scheduled to begin tomorrow (March 22nd). The entire project should take about three weeks to complete. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it for laundry. Any questions can be directed to Jeff McLaughlin at 617-305-5762 or MWRA’s 24 hour water line at 617-305-5950.
