The Medford Police Department is actively investigating a report of shots fired that occurred earlier this evening. As of now, there is no known victim, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
On Monday, January 29, 2024, at around 6:45 p.m., the Medford Emergency Communications Center received a call from a resident reporting possible shots fired in the area of Ship Avenue and Marine Street. Officers immediately responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police.
Upon officers’ arrival at the scene, two individuals were observed fleeing the area. A short time later, a firearm was discovered on the ground in the vicinity of the initial report.
Officers are still diligently working to identify the individual(s) involved in this incident.
