The Patrol Division of the Medford Police Department serves as the front line of law enforcement. It is responsible for patrolling designated areas, enforcing traffic laws, controlling crime, responding to emergencies, and providing a variety of other public safety services.
As the largest division in the department, the Patrol Division consists full-time officers divided into two shifts: days and nights. The day shift is 7:30am-3:30pm and the night shift is 11:30pm-7:30am and 3:30pm-11:30pm. The number of patrol officers on duty during any given shift can range from a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 20.
