The Medford Police Department is currently investigating a report of gunfire that occurred overnight. As of now, there are no known victims, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Around 1 a.m. on November 1, 2024, while conducting a routine patrol, two officers heard approximately eight gunshots in the vicinity of 364 Boston Avenue. All officers responded to the scene and carried out a thorough investigation with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police and the Tufts University Police Department. During this investigation, a firearm and several shell casings were recovered. No victims or injuries have been reported at this time. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect fleeing toward Bellevue Avenue.
Officers are actively working to identify the individuals involved in this incident.
We do not believe there is an active and ongoing threat at this time.
