Medford’s Board of Health will be hosting two Flu clinics. The first Flu Clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 5th from 9AM to noon at the Medford Housing Authority Building located at 121 Riverside Ave. The second flu clinic will be held on Wednesday, November 9th from 4PM to 7PM at the Medford City Hall Council Chambers. Anyone wishing to attend should bring their insurance cards and wear short sleeves.
Mobile Food Market
On Saturday, October 8th from 1PM to 2PM there will be a Mobile Food Market available for Medford residents in need at the WIC Office at 239 Commercial Street in Malden, weather permitting. Donations of fresh produce, dairy, and other refrigerated items are offered free of charge. Please bring a reusable shopping bag or cart to transport food home. A shuttle service will be provided from Medford City Hall to the Mobile Market starting at 11:30AM on October 8th. You must pre-register by calling (781)393-2439.
Brooks Street Paving
Work crews will be paving Brooks Street (Between Winthrop St. and Woburn St.) on Friday morning (September 30th) starting at 7AM, weather permitting. Please do not park your vehicles in the work area. Notices will also be posted. The street should be paved and open for use by noon. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
7th Annual Harvest Your Energy Festival
The City of Medford is holding the 7th Annual Harvest Your Energy Festival on Saturday from noon to 3PM at the McGlynn School. There will be free paper shredding, free textile recycling and free electronics recycling – except for a $25 charge for TVs and $15 charge for monitors. There will be free screening for the Be the Match, Bone Marrow Donor program. The Green Awards will be presented at 1PM. The festival will have food for sale, entertainment, and activities for the whole family. The festival will take place rain or shine.
Senior Citizen Parking Permits
The City of Medford would like to remind residents that Park Medford provides Senior Citizen Parking Permits. If you or a loved one is a senior citizen 65 years old or older and a resident of Medford, you are eligible. These permits allow City Seniors to park at all kiosk metered spaces without paying the meter. Additionally, those with this permit will be able to park for three hours in all designated two hours parking zones. The cost of the permit is $25.00 and can be obtained through Park Medford.
