Meet Officer Rikki Raymond
Officer Rikki Raymond has served as a patrol officer with the Medford Police Department for the past ten years. He chose law enforcement as a career because he wanted a job that was fun and offered something new every day. His career started as a Corrections Officer, which provided him with a strong foundation to become a successful police officer. As an officer in the city of Medford, he has seen the growing problems that officers face such as mental health and substance abuse; problems that the general public does not always see. He enjoys being in a position to help people, and his Haitian background and fluency in Haitian Creole have allowed him to address questions and concerns within the Haitian community. In his experience, people are more willing to help their community when they know that they can speak to a police officer who shares their background. Officer Raymond said, “This job has given me the opportunity to form strong, lifelong friendships with the men and women of the department, which I consider to be invaluable.”
